During the fourth and final session of Uli Hoeness’s trial, the prosecutor has requested a sentence of five and a half years in prison for the president of Bayern Munich, as reported by Bild.
Initially accused of defrauding the tax authorities of €3.5 million, Hoeness later admitted to a much larger sum of €18.5 million through a self-denunciation. However, the courts deemed this self-denunciation to be too late, and now a prison sentence appears to be inevitable for Hoeness.
Following the trial, some political figures have called for Hoeness’s immediate resignation.
