Christ Katongo, the Zambian international striker, has returned to competitive football after being without a club since last summer when his contract with the Chinese club Hana Jianye ended. He has signed with Golden Arrows in the South African premier division.
Chipolopolo aims to bolster their new club, which is currently struggling and sits at the bottom of the Premier Soccer League standings. Katongo, who was the best player and top scorer of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, is familiar with the South African championship, having previously played for Jomo Cosmos from 2004 to 2007, where he had an impressive record of 36 goals in 72 matches. He will reunite with his compatriots Joseph Musonda and Festus Mbewe at Golden Arrows.
