The Blaugrana secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a 2-1 victory in the return leg against the Citizens.
Following his team’s elimination, French attacking midfielder Samir Nasri found some positives from the double confrontation. “It seems to me that the people of Barcelona feared us a little. They had lost last weekend and their confidence was not at its peak. Our only regret is that we didn’t play the first leg like we did this evening. This defeat will serve us well. We see that we can fight with anyone,” he confided in l’Equipe.
