Bacary Sagna and Arsenal’s management are still at odds over contract negotiations. With his current contract set to expire in June, the French international of Senegalese descent remains dissatisfied with the contract extension offers from the club.
Sagna, who is 31 years old, recently turned down Arsenal’s latest proposal, which did not include a significant salary increase (€72,000 per week over two years). Instead, he is seeking a substantial raise to €140,000 per week for a three-year contract, along with a €7 million signing bonus. If he stays with the club, Sagna’s annual earnings would increase from €4 million to €7 million.
These figures, reported by the Daily Star, may lead Arsenal to consider allowing the former Auxerre player to leave, especially with interest from clubs that have the financial means to meet his demands.
