Teddy Riner, the world judo champion in the over 100 kg category, will be absent from the France selection training camp scheduled to begin on March 11 in Mongolia. This absence is due to an injury sustained to his left shoulder on Tuesday.
The injury will also prevent Riner from participating in the French team championships scheduled for this weekend.
According to a press release from his team, the injury affects his left shoulder, which had undergone surgery last September. Riner will undergo daily electrostimulation and icing treatments while observing a period of total rest. Further examination will be conducted within the next 10 days to assess the extent of the injury, and additional information regarding his health will be communicated accordingly.
