It was a triumphant return for Michel Dussuyer as Guinea’s head coach, as his team secured a 2-1 victory over Iran in a friendly match. The win marked Dussuyer’s first victory since his reappointment last month. Guinea took control of the game in the first half, with goals from Kevin Constant and Ibrahima Traoré giving them a comfortable lead going into halftime.
Although Iran managed to pull one back through Reza Ghoochannejhad in the second half, Guinea held firm to secure the win until the final whistle.
In another friendly match, Congo and Libya played out a goalless draw, with both teams delivering solid performances. Congo, under the leadership of Claude Leory, managed to hold the reigning African champions Libya to a stalemate.
Earlier in the day, Zimbabwe secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Malawi, while the Sudan-Kenya match was called off for undisclosed reasons.
