The breakthrough came in the second half when Jordan Ayew, making his first appearance as a substitute since joining Sochaux, ignited the team’s resurgence with a goal in the 67th minute. This was followed by another goal from Cédric Bakambu, sealing the win for the home side.
Reflecting on the match, Jordan Ayew expressed his newfound maturity and determination, stating, “In the past, I might have reacted differently to being a substitute. But now, I understand things better, I am more mature. We have more confidence and serenity. If we continue like this, we will surprise a lot of people.”
Despite the victory, Sochaux remains in 19th place in the league standings, while Bordeaux missed an opportunity to climb closer to European qualification, remaining in 8th place.
