Africa Top Sports reported this morning on the goalless draw between FC Kondzo and Bayelsa United of Nigeria in the round of 16 of the African Football Confederation Cup.
Following the match, FC Kondzo’s coach expressed regret over his team’s lack of efficiency in front of goal.
“We lacked the ability to convert our chances today, but it’s not something inevitable. We still have what it takes, and we are fully capable of performing better away from home. Our opponents came here aiming for a draw. When they play at home, they will have to take more risks, and we will be ready to take advantage,” said Luis Degon Itoua Madila.
On the other hand, Bayelsa United’s captain, Junior Salomon, addressed the press after the match, acknowledging their fatigue but also expressing satisfaction with the result.
“We didn’t perform at our best due to fatigue, but that’s not an excuse because our objective was to come here and win. However, a draw is not a bad outcome. It’s not yet qualification, but FC Kondzo should know that it won’t be easy to eliminate us on our home turf,” Salomon remarked.
