DIEUMERCI MBOKANI: THE CONGOLESE DREAMS OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE

The political and social tensions in Ukraine persist following the ousting of former President Yanukovych, leading to disruptions in various sectors, including football. In Kyiv, protests have compelled the Football Federation to suspend the championship, with speculation suggesting that matches may be postponed until the end of March.

This unsettling situation is particularly troubling for players, especially those from abroad. Dieumerci Mbokani, the Congolese international striker, is reportedly contemplating departing the country. Reports indicate that the former Anderlecht player is contemplating a departure at the conclusion of the season.

For Mbokani and his teammates, it has been three months since they last participated in a championship match, as the ceasefire has been prolonged amidst the challenging circumstances prevailing in the nation. Speaking to the Last Hour, the Congolese player expressed his frustration, stating, “If this situation persists, I will request a transfer from the president. It’s difficult to remain inactive for three months. Such a prolonged period without playing becomes increasingly challenging.”

Mbokani purportedly disclosed to the Belgian daily his aspirations to join the Premier League. “I’ve mentioned that if Dynamo were to depart, I would seek a move to England. My aim is to experience the Premier League.”
