Algeria has yet to play its friendly match against Slovenia scheduled for March 5th, but it has already secured its opponent for another preparatory fixture in May ahead of the World Cup: Armenia.
The Algerian Football Federation revealed on Friday that an agreement has been reached with the Armenian Football Federation for a friendly match between their respective national teams. The match is set to take place on May 31, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at the Geneva stadium.
While Slovakia and Armenia may not be traditionally considered football powerhouses, it remains to be seen whether these encounters will provide sufficient preparation for Algeria’s national team, known as the Fennecs, as they gear up for the World Cup.
