The shortlist for the position of coach of the Carthage Eagles has been narrowed down to four candidates, with Roger Lemerre no longer in contention, according to the Tunisian Football Federation. The remaining candidates include two Frenchmen, Hervé Renard and Jacques Santini, as well as two Tunisians, Sami Trabelsi and Mondher Kbaier.
The withdrawal of Roger Lemerre from consideration is reportedly due to his current club, Etoile du Sahel, which is unwilling to release him from his contractual obligations.
Among the remaining candidates, only Jacques Santini is available for the position without any contractual constraints.
The decision on the next coach will be made after the friendly match against Colombia, scheduled for March 5. In the interim, the Tunisian team will be led by technician Nizar Khanfir.
