Didier Deschamps, the coach of the French national team, addressed the media’s interest in Enzo Zidane, the eldest son of Zinedine Zidane, during a press conference at the headquarters of the French Football Federation. Deschamps urged the journalists to leave Enzo alone and emphasized that he needs space to develop without the burden of his famous surname.
Deschamps stated, “Leave him alone! He needs this. He has a heavy name to bear.” He emphasized that Enzo is just one player among others, and while his name may be world-famous due to his father’s legacy, he deserves to forge his own career without undue pressure.
Enzo Zidane has been called up for the French under-19 team, but he had the option to represent Spain as well. Additionally, the Algerian Football Federation has expressed interest in having him play for the Algerian national team. However, Deschamps stressed the importance of allowing Enzo to make his own choices and develop his career on his own terms.
