The Mauritanian Under-20 national team faced a defeat against their Tunisian counterparts with a scoreline of 1-3 in the ongoing international youth tournament hosted by Algeria.
Tunisia took the lead with a goal in the 12th minute courtesy of their player Ryan Al-Jarbi, followed by Zine El-Din Kada extending the lead with a goal in the 21st minute.
Youssef Bacha sealed the victory for the Tunisian team with a third goal in the 50th minute, while Mauritania managed to pull one back with a goal from their player Baye Lekweiry in the 81st minute.
The head coach of the Mauritanian youth team, Artiz Lopez Garai, began the match with a lineup consisting of Abderrahmane Sarr, Moussa Gassama, Sido Fall, Saeed Amegeen, Samba Niasse, Abderrahmane Soumare, Mouloud Bilal, Siga Keita, Papa Yatara, Rashid Ahmadou, and Hassan Damba.
On the substitutes’ bench were Ali Keita, Nalla Mohamed, Slimane Si, Buba Oubeid, Ahmed Sal, Aali Bilal, Mustapha El Zein, Abdullah Nasser Al-Hadeen, Bayat Lekweiry, Moussa Bala, Mohamed Ndiaye, and Abderrahmane Nadou.
The Mauritanian youth team is set to face Egypt in their next match scheduled for Saturday.
Participating in the tournament are four teams including Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and Mauritania.
