Mbaye Niang, the AC Milan player loaned to Montpellier, has faced the Montpellier criminal court today regarding the charges against him. Despite the severity of the accusations, Niang has been sentenced to only 18 months in prison.
In early February, Niang was apprehended for multiple offenses, including hit-and-run, endangering lives, traffic violations, driving with a suspended license, and causing unintentional injuries, after his damaged Ferrari was discovered by police. These charges could have led to a sentence of up to three years in prison.
However, Niang seems to have escaped relatively lightly with the sentence he has received.
