Arsenal has unveiled a statue of Dennis Bergkamp outside the Emirates Stadium, commemorating the legendary striker’s contributions to the club. The sculpture captures Bergkamp in a signature pose, symbolizing his iconic extension check movement. Bergkamp’s statue joins other monuments dedicated to Arsenal icons, including Herbert Chapman, Tony Adams, and Thierry Henry.
During the unveiling ceremony, which took place in the presence of Bergkamp himself, thousands of fans gathered around the Emirates Stadium to honor the Dutchman. Bergkamp, who played for Arsenal from 1995 to 2006, expressed his deep gratitude and pride at the recognition.
Known as the “non-flying Dutchman” due to his fear of flying, Bergkamp currently serves as an assistant coach at Ajax, his former club, alongside his former national team colleague Frank de Boer.
The unveiling of Bergkamp’s statue marks a significant moment in Arsenal’s history, celebrating the enduring legacy of one of the club’s greatest players. Fans enthusiastically welcomed the addition of the statue, singing chants in tribute to Bergkamp’s remarkable career and achievements.
