Cédric Kanté, who last played for Mali during CAN 2012, is set to make his return to the national team. The Sochaux defender has received a pre-call from Malian coach Henry Kasperczak for the upcoming friendly match against Senegal on March 5, to be held in France.
According to reports from L’Equipe, Kanté’s inclusion in the squad signifies his potential comeback after a two-year absence from the Eagles. The final list of selected players will be announced on February 28 in Bamako, Mali’s capital.
Additionally, Seydou Keita, who recently joined Valencia, will also be part of the squad for the friendly encounter against Senegal. Keita’s presence adds experience and quality to the Malian team as they prepare for the upcoming match.
