During a training session last Wednesday, after the rest of the squad had headed back to the locker room, Zidane, serving as assistant coach, stayed behind with Jesé. Together, they extended the training session, with Zidane personally guiding the young Spanish striker through a series of volleying exercises. It was an opportunity for Jesé to learn from one of the greatest players in football history.
Zidane’s expertise in volleys is well-documented, particularly his memorable goal in the 2002 Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
