Bafétimbi Gomis has reaffirmed his commitment to Olympique Lyonnais (OL) until the end of the season, emphasizing his growing effectiveness in front of goal in Ligue 1. Scoring OL’s third goal against AC Ajaccio on Sunday (3-1), the French striker reached double figures in goals for the eighth consecutive year. Despite a challenging start to the season marked by injuries and conflicts with the club’s president, Gomis has regained his form and become a vital player for the team once again.
The striker of Senegalese origin has earned widespread praise at Gerland stadium for his resurgence. Now, Gomis is even contemplating a return to the French national team, less than four months before the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
“Without putting pressure on the coach, I know what I can bring to the team,” Gomis stated, as reported by L’Équipe. “I can end the season stronger than some others.”
