As the World Cup draws near, Dominic Adiyiah and Quincy Owusu-Abeyie are racing against time to secure club contracts. Both Ghanaian internationals have been without a club for several weeks and are now on trial with different teams in hopes of finding playing time and earning a spot for Brazil.
Adiyiah, who has been regularly called up to the Ghanaian national team during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, is currently on trial with Kalmar FF in Sweden. Thomas Andersson Borstam, the club’s sporting director, expressed interest in Adiyiah, describing him as an offensive player. The club will evaluate his performance during the trial period before making a decision. Adiyiah has been without a contract since leaving Ukrainian club Arsenal Kyiv.
On the other hand, Owusu-Abeyie is aiming for a return to La Liga. He is currently undergoing a trial with Real Valladolid.
