Since November 20, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has been organizing a seminar in Cairo for referees to prepare them for future major competitions, updating them on the most recent developments in game management. The seminar, which ends on November 29, is divided into two stages. The first, from November 21 to 23, focuses on physical and medical tests. The second, from November 24 to 27, involves specific training. At the end of the course, the arbitration commission, led by Tunisian Tarek Bouchemaoui, will collaborate with members of the CAF executive to develop the list of referees selected for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in South Africa.
