According to reports from Malian media outlets, Adama Traoré, a player from FC Barcelona, has reportedly chosen to represent his country of origin, Mali.
The Malian Football Federation (FMF) has been actively seeking to bolster its national team, and has been in discussions with Adama Traoré and his brother Mohamed Traoré, who is associated with another Barcelona club in Spain. A delegation from the FMF visited Spain to meet with the players’ parents in hopes of persuading them to play for the Malian national team.
Reports suggest that the discussions with the Traoré family went smoothly and that Mohamed Traoré has expressed his readiness to commit to Mali. He is reportedly awaiting a potential call-up from the national team coach, Henry Kasperszak.
Regarding Adama Traoré, who is affiliated with FC Barcelona, a special advisor to the FMF president stated that Traoré is awaiting a contract proposal from the Spanish club. Once he commits to Barcelona, he is expected to join the Mali national team.
