Last Sunday, the Girondins de Bordeaux faced a defeat at the Parc des Princes against the home team led by Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his teammates. Despite acknowledging shortcomings within his team’s performance, André Biyogo-Poko pointed to refereeing decisions as a factor in their loss.
With their match against Lorient postponed due to scheduling issues, Bordeaux had to focus on their recent loss to PSG (2-0), where they admitted the opponent’s superiority. Speaking to Sud-Ouest, midfielder André Biyogo-Poko highlighted both his team’s deficiencies and refereeing decisions during the match.
“Francis Gillot expressed disappointment after the defeat against Paris because our performance didn’t match the level we displayed against Saint-Étienne, despite the short turnaround time between matches. The coach made his dissatisfaction clear to us. We lacked technical precision, were inefficient, and didn’t assert ourselves enough in duels. It was a lesson learned. We have a tendency to show too much respect to our opponents, and this time, it cost us. Additionally, the referees didn’t favor us. Lucas was clearly offside for the first goal.”
Biyogo-Poko and his teammates are now preparing to face Stade de Reims next Saturday at the Auguste-Delaune stadium.
