Daniel Opare, the Ghanaian defender, has experienced a remarkable season since his arrival in Belgium in July 2010. Despite previous inconsistencies, he has regained his starting status both at Standard Liege and in the national team. With aspirations for the league title with Standard and a potential debut in the World Cup with Ghana, Opare has been the subject of transfer speculation during the winter window.

Although there were reported interests from clubs like Marseille, Roma, and Lens, Opare ultimately remained with Standard Liege in the Jupiler Pro League. However, his contract with the club is set to expire in June, and he has yet to extend his stay.

In an interview, Opare expressed his happiness with life in Liege, citing the city’s atmosphere, the Sclessin stadium, and the passionate supporters. While he acknowledges his desire to explore new opportunities and play alongside great players, he remains committed to Standard Liege for the time being.

Opare emphasized his focus on the present, prioritizing his contributions to Standard Liege’s success. He aims to help the team win matches and bring joy to the supporters, indicating his loyalty to the club that has supported him throughout his tenure. Despite potential future prospects, Opare remains dedicated to his current responsibilities on the pitch.
