The coach of the Malawi Flames, Kinnah Phiri, has finalized his list of 16 players for the Cecafa Cup in Uganda. Several players were dismissed due to indiscipline, leading to the inclusion of seven new players in the squad. The selected players include goalkeepers Charles Swini, Owen Chaima, and Richard Chipuwa. Defenders Foster Namwera, Moses Chavula, Bongani Kaipa, Steve Chagoma, George Nyirenda, Pirira Makupe, and John Lanjesi are part of the squad. Midfielders Joseph Kamwendo, Patrick Masanjala, Micium Mhone, Ndaziona Chatsalira, Chimango Kayira, and Bernard Harawa are included, along with forwards Chiukepo Msowoya, Rodrick Gonani, Green Harawa, and Innocent Bokosi. Malawi will compete in Group C against Rwanda, Zanzibar, and Eritrea in the Cecafa Cup.
