Standard Liège will be without Daniel Spare for their upcoming match against Zulte Waregem on Sunday. The Ghanaian international missed training on Thursday due to injury, dealing a significant blow to coach Guy Luzon, who has relied on Opare’s defensive prowess throughout the season (with 20 starts in 24 matches).
Opare has been experiencing discomfort in the back of his thigh since the beginning of the week, prompting a scheduled appointment with the club doctor on Thursday afternoon. Although initial fears were not serious, the club decided not to take any risks. It was determined that Opare has a strained hamstring in his left leg.
Standard Liège announced that Opare will be sidelined for approximately a week, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming match against Charleroi.
