Real Madrid and FC Barcelona are not just rivals on the football field; they also compete in the realm of stadium renovation, investing millions of euros in their projects.
Following Real Madrid’s recent announcement, FC Barcelona has now unveiled its own ambitious stadium renovation project, dubbed “Espai Barça”. This initiative proposes an extensive expansion and modernization of the current Camp Nou stadium.
According to Javier Faus, the economic president of the Catalan club, the project includes plans for a 105,000-seat stadium, making it the largest in the world. Additionally, the renovation will encompass the construction of a new Palau (Sports Palace), a mini Palau, an ice palace, and a modern commercial space, as well as upgraded swimming pools.
The total cost of the renovation is estimated at 600 million euros, with construction expected to be completed by 2017.
