Francesco Totti, at 37 years old, and Gervinho, at 26, were the standout performers of the match, thrilling the Roman fans with their performances. Totti provided the assist for Gervinho’s opening goal in the 13th minute, while the second goal came from a spectacular long-range strike by Radja Nainggolan in the 32nd minute.
Despite Napoli’s comeback with goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Dries Mertens, Roma secured the win thanks to Gervinho’s late goal, assisted once again by Totti. With this victory, Roma holds a significant advantage heading into the second leg at the San Paolo Stadium next Wednesday.
