Eto’o had just exchanged jerseys with Yaya and was waiting for the Ivorian’s in return. Yaya, however, seemed to be stalling, much to Eto’o’s playful annoyance. The exchange turned into a humorous and friendly banter: Eto’o joked, “Give me your little brother’s jersey!” to which Yaya replied, “I’m not giving it to you!” Eto’o responded with a laugh, “I’ll slap you, do you think you’re that big?”
Despite the teasing, the interaction ended on a positive note. Yaya Touré showed Eto’o the damage from his tackle in the first half, prompting Eto’o to express his pride in Yaya’s career: “I’m so proud of you! I swear to you, my son!”
