The MLS (North American Football League) has announced plans to host an 8-a-side tournament titled “Road to Brazil” in preparation for the 2014 World Cup. The tournament will feature six teams, including reigning champions Spain, as well as Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Greece, Bosnia, and Honduras. Additionally, El Salvador and Bolivia, although not qualified for the World Cup, are also mentioned as participants.
The competition is scheduled to take place from May 27 to June 10 in the United States, serving as a preparatory event for the participating teams ahead of the World Cup in Brazil. However, details regarding the tournament format, match schedule, and host cities are yet to be finalized.
