Belgium’s preparation program for the 2014 World Cup has been revealed by coach Marc Wilmots, which may be of interest to Algeria, one of Belgium’s opponents in Group H. The program includes a series of training camps and friendly matches to prepare the team for the tournament.
The preparations will kick off on May 19 with a training camp in Genk, Belgium. This camp will include a friendly match against Luxembourg on May 26. Following this, the team will travel to Sweden for another training camp, where they will face Sweden in a friendly match on June 1.
After returning to Belgium for a third training camp from June 4 to 6, the team will have their final friendly match against Tunisia on June 7 in Brussels. Finally, they will head to Sao Paulo, Brazil on June 10 to begin their World Cup campaign.
The friendly match against Tunisia will provide Belgium with an opportunity to gauge the playing style and strengths of a team similar to Algeria, their Group H opponent. Alongside Algeria, Belgium’s group also includes Russia and South Korea, making it a challenging but exciting group in the World Cup.
