Arrested by French police over the weekend and placed in a sobering-up cell for urinating in public, Kader Keita has spoken out, admitting fault for his actions but refuting claims of intoxication.
“I acknowledge that I made a mistake by urinating in public. I had an urgent need and found myself in a situation where I acted inappropriately. This is not typical of me,” Keita revealed in an interview with the Ivorian magazine Super Sport. However, he vehemently denies allegations of being intoxicated at the time.
“It pains me to hear accusations that I left a party drunk. This is entirely untrue. While I enjoy having a good time, there are boundaries,” he emphasized.
Keita further detailed his experience with the French police following his arrest, alleging mistreatment during the ordeal.
“I was subjected to aggression by the officers, which I find unjustified. I complied without resistance when asked to accompany them. Yet, the three officers sought to degrade me, showing utter disdain,” lamented the former Lyon player.
As the police have yet to provide their account of the incident, Keita’s claims remain contested, though his history of adventurous escapades adds complexity to the situation.
