The former Manchester United and Arsenal defender has parted ways with the club, as announced in a press release by the Timbers on their official Twitter account. The termination of Silvestre’s contract was described as amicable, although specific financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Silvestre made the move to Major League Soccer (MLS) in February 2013 when he joined the Portland Timbers. However, his time on the field was limited due to injuries. After playing eight games for the Timbers, Silvestre suffered a significant knee injury on May 2, 2013, which sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
