Paris Saint-Germain will officially present its new recruit, Yohan Cabaye, on Wednesday. The midfielder arrived in the French capital on Tuesday evening and is currently undergoing his medical examination. The presentation is scheduled for 5 p.m. GMT.
Cabaye signed a 3.5-year contract for a fee of €20 million plus €5 million in bonuses, transferring from Newcastle. He is expected to earn around €6 million annually. PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi explained the decision to sign Cabaye to L’Equipe, citing three main reasons.
“Firstly, he is a very good player and highly regarded by us. Secondly, despite not having met him personally, I have heard he is a very pleasant person. And thirdly, his French nationality is important for us as we aim to bring French players back into the French Championship,” Al Khelaifi stated.
