Michael Essien was officially presented to AC Milan on Tuesday, having signed with the Lombard club until 2015. The Ghanaian midfielder expressed his joy at joining the Milan family, highlighting his friendship with Sulley Muntari and his acquaintance with Kaka.
“I am very happy to be part of the Milan family,” said Essien. “There’s my best friend here, Muntari, and I know Kaka well too.” Essien, who played with Kaka at Real Madrid during the 2012-2013 season, also mentioned that it was an easy decision after discussing with Clarence Seedorf.
“I am ready to give everything in any position on the pitch, it will be up to the Mister to decide,” continued the former Lyon player. “I don’t ask for anything when I’m not in the group. I don’t care for explanations. If it’s good for the team, it will be good for me.”
Essien expressed his hopes of representing Ghana at the World Cup, as the Black Stars will compete in Group G alongside Germany, Portugal, and the United States.
