Samuel Eto’o has recently expressed his desire to return to Spain at the end of the season to finish his career at Mallorca, the club where he began his professional journey. However, his current coach at Chelsea, José Mourinho, is not ruling out the possibility that Eto’o may continue his career with the Blues next season.
Mourinho stated, “We’ll see what he wants at the end of the season. Maybe he wants to come back to Mallorca, as he promised his son. Maybe he wants to stay with us or leave and finish his career at Inter. He doesn’t need titles, he doesn’t need money.”
Despite Eto’o’s desire to potentially return to his roots, Mourinho’s comments suggest that there is still uncertainty surrounding the Cameroonian striker’s future plans. Eto’o has made an impact at Chelsea, notably scoring a hat-trick against Manchester United in the Premier League on January 19, and has contributed six goals since joining Stamford Bridge.
