Lacina Traoré, the Ivorian striker, is set to leave Monaco and won’t be staying to replace the injured Radamel Falcao. Initially announced to be leaving for England on loan, Traoré has indeed joined Everton after obtaining his work permit. Everton officially confirmed the signing on their Twitter account, stating, “Everton has signed striker Lacina Traoré on loan from AS Monaco until the end of the season.” The former Anzhi center forward will now spend the remainder of the year in the English Premier League.
The departure of Traoré raises questions about whether Monaco will seek to recruit another attacker to fill the void left by the injured Falcao.
