Known for his aggressive style on the field, Alaixys Romao has built a reputation as one of the most sanctioned players in France. This label, however, doesn’t bother him, and he discussed his first half of the season with Olympique de Marseille and his relationship with Ligue 1 referees during an interview with Le Phocéen on Tuesday.
“It’s true that at the moment I’m making a lot of mistakes, so we’re trying to talk with them to coax them out. But hey after that, it’s like that, I’m not going to change either; it’s part of my game. I still hope to do as little as possible and take as few cards as possible,” shared the OM midfielder.
Despite his rough and tough playing style, Romao acknowledges the need to communicate with referees to avoid unnecessary sanctions. However, he remains true to his playing style, emphasizing that it is an integral part of his game. Despite the challenges, he expressed the hope of minimizing mistakes and card incidents in the future. Romao recently played in the Coupe de France match against Nice, which ended in a 4-5 defeat for Olympique de Marseille.
