The classification is based on evaluations by team captains, coaches, and match referees, and it includes three categories: good lawns, average lawns, and bad lawns. The LFP opted for a general categorization to avoid offending clubs or creating controversies.
Here is the classification of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 pitches based on their condition:
Ligue 1:
- Good Pitches: FC Nantes, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, Montpellier Hérault SC, Paris Saint-Germain, and Stade Rennais FC
- Medium Pitches: AS Monaco FC, Evian TG FC, LOSC Lille, Olympique Lyonnais, Stade de Reims, Toulouse FC, and Valenciennes FC
- Bad Pitches: AC Ajaccio, AS Saint-Etienne, EA Guingamp, Girondins Bordeaux, OGC Nice, Olympique de Marseille, and SC Bastia
Ligue 2:
- Good Pitches: AJ Auxerre, ESTAC Troyes, SM Caen, and Tours FC
- Medium Pitches: Chamois Niortais, Dijon FCO, FC Istres OP, FC Metz, RC Lens, Stade Lavallois Mayenne FC, and US Créteil Lusitanos
- Bad Pitches: AC Arles-Avignon, Angers SCO, CA Bastia, Clermont Foot, Le Havre AC, Nîmes Olympique, and Stade Brestois 29
