According to Africa Top Sports.com, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly interested in signing Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic from AS Roma. An offer has allegedly been made to the attacking midfielder, who was acquired by AS Roma for 11 million euros in 2011 from Olympique Lyonnais.
In response to PSG’s interest, Pjanic expressed his flattery, stating, “PSG’s interest was flattering. I am happy to hear that. Paris is the only club I would go to if I had to come back to France. I’m at Roma, it’s a very big club, I feel very good here. If I really had to leave here, it would be to go to a place that I like.”
However, PSG president Nasser El-Khelaïfi acknowledges that the potential transfer could be challenging. He mentioned, “Pjanic is a good player, an excellent player. But I don’t have the impression that AS Roma is willing to sell him this winter. Most major European clubs want Pjanic today. But I respect AS Roma, and I can understand that they do not give up their best players at the start of the season.”
Meanwhile, PSG coach Laurent Blanc has confirmed negotiations with French midfielder Yohan Cabaye, currently under contract with Newcastle United until 2016. The transfer price, set by Newcastle’s leaders, is reported to be around 22 million pounds, equivalent to a little over 26 million euros. Cabaye was initially bought for 6 million euros from Lille in June 2011.
The developments in these potential transfers are expected to continue.
