Nigerian international Elderson Echiejile is set to leave the Portuguese league and join the French Ligue 1. According to reports from the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, relayed by L’Equipe, the left-back from Braga is on the verge of signing a three-year contract with AS Monaco. The 25-year-old, who previously played for Stade Rennais in the French league between 2007 and 2010, is expected to provide competition for Layvin Kurzawa at Monaco. Echiejile’s contract with Braga had only six months remaining. He is set to reinforce Monaco’s defensive options for the remainder of the season.
