Paul Georges Ntep will remain at AJ Auxerre until the end of the season, despite strong interest from Rennes. Negotiations, which were close to a €5.5 million deal, came to a halt due to the player’s contractual demands.
Guy Cotret, president of AJA, revealed on RMC, “Stade Rennais and President De Saint Sernin made it clear to me that the club was ending discussions due to the player’s contractual demands. Rennes has moved on and resumed discussions with other players.”
Contrary to previous rumors, Ntep is set to complete the season at AJA, as the club president denied any agreement with Arsenal. Despite reports suggesting Arsenal’s interest, Cotret clarified, “It’s nonsense, there is no agreement with Arsenal. There is nothing at all. We haven’t even received an offer from the club. Arsenal have not even expressed their interest to our club. We only received one offer for the player, and it was from Rennes.”
Additional information from RMC indicates that Genoa has submitted an offer considered insufficient by Auxerre, while Queens Park Rangers has expressed interest in Ntep without making a formal offer.
