Mame Biram Diouf’s move to the Premier League is on hold for the winter transfer window. Despite interest from Cardiff City, the Senegalese striker from Hannover has decided to stay in the Bundesliga for the remainder of the season.
In an interview with Kicker, as relayed by Eurosport, Diouf’s agent confirmed that his client “will remain at Hannover 96 until the summer.” He further explained, “There are four clubs where Mame could play, but none is willing to meet the sum demanded by Hannover.” With Diouf’s contract set to expire in June, the German club is reportedly asking for a transfer fee ranging between 3 and 3.5 million euros.
Throughout the current season, the Hanover goal-scorer has delivered a commendable performance, participating in 15 matches and netting 5 goals.
Diouf initially joined Hannover from Manchester United in January 2012 after loan spells at Molde in Norway and Blackburn Rovers. Interestingly, he won’t be reuniting with his former Molde director, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is now the manager of Cardiff.
