Crystal Palace midfielder Ismail H’Maidat, a talented 18-year-old Dutchman of Moroccan origin, may be making a move from the Premier League to Belgium. Currently undergoing trials at Sporting Anderlecht, the official website of the Belgian club released a statement confirming the young player’s presence in their Espoir group.
“Ismail H’Maidat, a young 18-year-old midfielder, is currently being tested at Sporting in the Espoir group. He is currently under contract at Crystal Palace,” the statement read.
This potential move to Sporting Anderlecht would allow H’Maidat to continue his football development in a league with which he is familiar. Having already played in the Jupiler Pro League, the young Moroccan midfielder previously featured for Turnhout from Twente, then moved to Westerlo, Genk, the OHL, and finally made his way to Crystal Palace. The trial represents an opportunity for H’Maidat to showcase his skills in the Belgian league and potentially secure a new chapter in his football career.
