Espérance Sportive de Tunis unexpectedly exited the CAF Confederation Cup football competition last Sunday after stumbling in the final round of group stage matches, resulting in a draw against Académica of Angola.
Following their departure from the competition, Espérance de Tunis stands to benefit from a substantial windfall of approximately $400,000, equivalent to around 1.2 million Tunisian dinars, from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This grant will significantly reduce Espérance de Tunis’ debt to the football governing body, which previously stood at around 7 million dinars.
It’s worth noting that the Tunisian club finished third in their group with a total of 10 points.
