The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has imposed three penalties on Modern Future Club following the events of their recent match against Smouha.
Modern Future Club played to a 1-1 draw against Smouha in a match held at Alexandria Stadium as part of the 14th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
The league association notified Modern Future Club based on the referee’s and match observer’s report of the following penalties:
- Player Suspension: Mahmoud Rizk, a player for Modern Future Club, has been suspended for one match due to a red card offense, preventing him from participating in the upcoming match.
- Coach Suspension and Fine: Mohamed Sadek, the team’s coach, has been suspended and fined 20,000 Egyptian pounds to be paid to the league association’s treasury within two weeks from the date of the fine’s issuance.
Failure to pay the fine within the specified period will result in continued suspension until the fine is settled.
This penalty was imposed due to Sadek’s unprofessional behavior towards the match observer.
- Club Fine: The club has been fined 25,000 Egyptian pounds, which must be paid within two weeks from the date of issuance.
Failure to pay within the specified period will result in the fine being doubled. If the club fails to pay after one month, its home matches will be moved to an alternative venue until the fine is settled.
This penalty was imposed due to the club’s executive director, Haitham Arabi, entering the referee’s corridor after the match to protest against the match officials.
Modern Future Club currently occupies the 13th position in the league standings with 15 points from 11 matches played.
Despite these penalties, Modern Future Club has secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the Confederation Cup as the runner-up of Group A.
