The Discipline Committee of the Algerian Professional League has issued a severe punishment against Youssef Belaïli, the star player of MC Alger, after his expulsion in the match against ES Sétif, which his team lost 0-1 in the 19th round of the competition.
Belaïli has been suspended for a total of six matches, including two suspended, following his red card in the encounter.
Additionally, the committee has decided to ban Youssef Sekri, the president of USM El Harrach, from football-related activities for four years, with a recommendation for a lifetime ban.
This decision stems from his threats and insults directed at referees during his team’s match against ES Ben Aknoun, which was halted at the end of the first half.
Furthermore, the club has been fined $9,000.
In a separate ruling, Belaïli has been fined $700 for his protests against the referee’s decisions and his unsportsmanlike conduct.
