Standard de Liège has taken a stand against Michy Batshuayi’s agent, Christophe Henrotay, accusing him of unethical behavior. The Belgian club has submitted a complaint to FIFA, questioning Henrotay’s actions in attempting to broker a transfer for Batshuayi to several clubs, particularly in the English Premier League. Standard de Liège claims that Henrotay is trying to convince Batshuayi to terminate his contract with the club, despite the recent extension until 2017. The club expressed disappointment with these maneuvers, especially when the player himself has affirmed his desire to finish the season with Standard. The club alleges that Henrotay’s ultimate goal is to sell the player and then loan him to another club in the Belgian competition, without adding any sporting value for Batshuayi.
