Waleed El-Attar, the Executive Director of the Egyptian Football Association, commented on the delay in announcing the referee team for the highly anticipated derby final of the Egypt Cup, pitting the country’s football powerhouses Al Ahly and Zamalek against each other.
In televised remarks on ON Time Sports 2 channel, El-Attar stated, “It is customary to announce the names of the refereeing team 48 hours before the match.”
He added, “Expect the announcement in the coming hours.”
Regarding the financial gains from hosting the Egypt Cup final in Saudi Arabia, he emphasized, “The financial returns from hosting the Egypt Cup final abroad for the first time are higher than the returns from hosting the Egyptian Super Cup in the UAE.”
El-Attar further elaborated, “Many surprises are being prepared for viewers on screens or the audience in the stadium, which will be announced later.”
Concluding his statements, he assured, “All the requests needed by Hossam Hassan and the national team are being fulfilled, with the latest being the postponement of the match between Al Ahly and ENPPI, by decision of the Clubs Association.”
