Vladimir Petković, the new Swiss coach of Algeria’s national football team, has revealed plans to introduce fresh faces into the squad during the upcoming training camp.
He emphasized that his coaching objectives will not be short-term and stressed his commitment to implementing rules that apply to everyone equally.
Addressing a press conference on Monday following his introduction to the media, Petković stated, “My primary task now is to get to know all the players closely.
Short-term goals cannot be set.
I am currently observing the players and will try to improve what can be improved while establishing rules that everyone respects without exception.”
He added, “The next camp will see the participation of players who have not previously joined the national team.
I will call up the best.
Currently, no one is excluded from the project.”
The former Swiss national team coach emphasized his desire to achieve victories, confirming that he would rely on an expanded coaching staff, including an Algerian coach he is set to meet on Monday evening.
He also mentioned his intention to speak with the Bosnian coach, Vahid Halilhodžić, who previously managed the team.
Regarding the language barrier, Belmadi commented, “Language is not a barrier.
I speak French and have not spoken it today alone.
In my coaching staff, some individuals speak all languages.”
Addressing the pressure from Algerian fans, he said, “I am accustomed to working under pressure, and this is normal in the world of the game.
I would even say that working without pressure is negative.
The atmosphere here resembles what I experienced with Lazio in Italy.”
