Former Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam, commonly known as “Mido,” has indirectly accused his compatriot and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah of insubordination and intentionally skipping the upcoming Egyptian national team camp scheduled for March.
During his program aired on Egypt’s Al-Mehwar TV channel, Mido implicated Salah in agreeing to a letter sent by Liverpool to the Egyptian Football Association requesting his exemption from joining the national team camp.
Mido stated, “Liverpool wouldn’t have sent the letter without Mohamed Salah’s consent.
Be cautious if someone tells me that Liverpool sent this letter without Salah’s knowledge.”
Further elaborating, Mido remarked, “Salah supported Liverpool’s letter to excuse him from the camp.
The Egyptian Football Association was shocked by the letter.
Captain Hossam and Ibrahim (Hassan) didn’t expect this letter at present.”
Mido also highlighted the timing of Liverpool’s letter, stating, “The timing of sending the letter by Liverpool is premature, especially considering that the camp is set to commence in approximately two weeks, amidst rumors and reports suggesting a dispute between Mohamed Salah and Hossam Hassan, the new coach of the Egyptian national team.”
